Holidays at Hagley - Daily Offerings

Saturday, December 7, 2013

Monday, January 6, 2014
7 p.m.

This year Hagley returns to its historical roots during the holiday season. Our exhibits, events, and programs will feature early du Pont family holiday celebrations and traditions based on New Year’s and Twelfth Night. We hope you enjoy the new interpretation as much as we enjoyed creating it!

In the spirit of the du Pont family who founded the black powder mills along the Brandywine, Hagley Museum and Library is committed to giving back to our community. We are extending free admission to children fourteen and under from December 7, 2013, through Monday, January 6, 2014.

“The New Year in the Residence” Exhibit
The du Pont family ancestral home, Eleutherian Mills, will feature holiday decorations and interpretation on the French tradition of exchanging gifts on New Year’s Day and the celebration of Twelfth Night. Interpretation will focus on three generations of the du Pont family. Hours are 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The first bus leaves for the exhibit at 10 a.m. and the last bus at 3:30 p.m. The exhibit is included in the cost of admission and free for members and children 14 and under. Use Hagley’s main entrance off Route 141 in Wilmington, Delaware.  Closed December 25.
