Collection Abstract: Nora C. Edwards patented a skirt supporter in the United States and Canada in 1903. She established the Edwards Skirt Supporter Company that same year. Edwards employed women to sell the skirt supporters door-to-door. The papers consist of incoming correspondence, both business and personal, that describes the work of the sales agents and the lives of her female friends who were teachers and office and store clerks.
