Collection Abstract: The collection consists of Sophie du Pont May's family and financial correspondence. Her family correspondence pertains to holiday, acknowledgements, and other special occasions. The financial correspondence centers on Mrs. May's donations to political and social aid groups. The financial section includes documentation of the contentious settlement of Irenee du Ponts' estate as well as Mr. & Mrs. May’s opposition to the Du Pont/Christiania Securities Co. merger in the 1970s.
