Collection abstract: Elmer Ambrose Sperry (1860-1930), who invented the ship gyrostabilizer, gyrocompass, marine gyropilot, high-intensity search light, and aerial torpedo, was the founder of the Sperry Gyroscope Company. This collection consists of both personal and business papers.
