Fireworks Clean-Up

Description: Join a friend or coworker, or meet someone new as you help Hagley pick up fireworks debris out of the E. I. du Pont garden to keep it beautiful. Enjoy the beauty of the site and fresh air.

Qualifications: Ability to bend and pick up small pieces of fireworks debris.

Requirements: Scheduled the Monday after fireworks in June, 9 a.m. to noon or 1-4 p.m.

Gardening

Description: Under the direct supervision of the horticultural specialist, maintain the trees, shrubs, perennials, annuals, bulbs, and vegetables in the restored garden at the DuPont family residence. Volunteer will maintain all areas of the garden and its surroundings. The garden is in a public area, so there will be some contact with museum visitors.

Qualifications: Desire and ability to work outdoors in a garden.

Requirements: Flexible schedule within staff working hours of 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays.

Collect and Recycle non-functioning appliances for Invention Convention

Description: Hagley’s Invention Convention needs non-working computer towers, vacuums, DVD players, small appliances, and other household items that have screws and pieces that can be taken apart by children. The children disassemble the items to see how they work.

Qualifications: Ability to gather items from the Hagley-approved list of items and bring to Hagley in January for the Invention Convention.

Requirements: Bring items to Hagley in January the week before the event.

Events throughout the year

Qualifications: Each event needs a different number of volunteers and has different needs.
