2019 Processing Internship

The Project 
The Hagley Library’s Department of Audiovisual Collections and Digital Initiatives (AVD) is seeking to hire a processing intern for 2019. The Archives Processing Intern will be responsible for the conservation, arrangement, and description of an archival collection(s) under the supervision of the Audiovisual and Digital Archivist in the Audiovisual Collections and Digital Initiatives Department.

Duties will include:
•    Review materials condition for possible preservation attention
•    Re-boxing, re-foldering and labeling archival materials
•    Arrange and describe materials
•    Author EAD and DACS compliant findings aid(s) using Archivists’ Toolkit. 

The successful applicant shall have experience, or at the very least training, in processing archival collections and be sensitive to, and experienced with, the handling of archival materials.

This internship in the library at Hagley entails 320 hours of service, with start and end dates set by mutual agreement. The rate is $15 per hour. Applications will be reviewed starting April 1, 2018, until the internship is filled.
