Bring your bike or walking shoes to Hagley every Wednesday evening from 5 to 8 p.m. Enjoy the riverside and wooded trails through Hagley's scenic property and picnic along the Brandywine River. July 6 to 10 - Hagley's Summer Camp
Games Unplugged (Ages 7-9)
Hagley's summer camps are unique learning adventures, integrating history, science, and the arts. Children enjoy experiencing something completely new to them every day! Campers will find out how to have fun without electricity! No iPods or Xboxes here, just good old-fashioned games and other popular amusements of the 1800s.
July 13 to 17 - Hagley's Summer Camp
Lost Skills and Arts (Ages 7-12)
Hagley's summer camps are unique learning adventures, integrating history, science, and the arts. Children enjoy experiencing something completely new to them every day! Campers will get to try out some of the skills children used every day in the 1800s. Before shopping malls and McDonalds, children learned to make their own clothes and toys, prepare snacks from fresh ingredients, woodwork, fish, and many other "lost arts".
July 19 - Sunday - 1 to 4 p.m.
Creek Kids program: Gunpowder in American History
Hagley Creek Kids invite families to learn about the different uses for gunpowder in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. Programs include music, games and leisure activities, history, food, and make-and-take crafts. Included in regular museum admission. Free for members. Gears, Engineers, and Science Frontiers (Ages 11-13)
Hagley's summer camps are unique learning adventures, integrating history, science, and the arts. Children enjoy experiencing something completely new to them every day! Campers will take on engineering challenges, while learning how engineers have helped to shape our world from the time of water wheels and steam engines to Lycra and Teflon.

Hagley Car Show
Browse through more than 600 antique and restored cars that date from the early nineteen-hundreds to the nineteen-eighties. The show features vehicle parades, motoring music, video and go-cart racing, and a festival food court. Activities are on Hagley's upper property. Event admission charged, free for Hagley members and children five and under.

Fall Lecture: David Pensak
David Pensak will present "Innovation - it's not just for breakfast any more...." in the Copeland Room of Hagley Library. Pensak worked at DuPont Company for thirty years; founded Raptor Systems, the company that produced the commercially successful internet firewall; and founded the company Authentica, a pioneer in the field of digital rights management. He is currently on the faculty of the George Washington University School of Law and the University of Delaware. The lecture will be followed with a question and answer session as well as book sales and signing by the author. Lecture is free and open to the public. September 26 - Saturday - 4 to 7 p.m.
Golden Pheasants Harvest Party
This Saturday afternoon event is perfect for the young and young-at-heart and their families. Event includes hayrides, music by a local band, food catered by the Wilmington Club, pumpkin carving demonstrations, and games. Costs are $35 for Hagley members (21 and older), $45 for not-yet member adults, $15 for young adults (17-20), $7 for youths (5-16), and children four and under are free. Advance reservations only. Jennifer Armiger, University of Delaware, will present her paper, "The Gender of Industrial Decline: Race, Gender, and Corporate Change at Western Electric in the 1970s," in the Copeland Room of Hagley Library. Hagley Craft Fair
This artisans' marketplace brings talented artisans from the Mid-Atlantic area to display and sell fine arts and crafts. This premier show will feature works in wood, pottery, jewelry, fibers, metal, and other media. Event admission charged, free for members and children under six years old. October 21 - Wednesday - 7 p.m.
Fall Lecture: Norman Henry
Norman Henry will present "Radiation Awareness" in the Copeland Room of Hagley Library. He will explore radiation as source of energy in the future and its potential to be a solution for problems such as greenhouse gas emissions and global warming. Henry is a retired senior research chemist and certified industrial hygienist from DuPont. He currently works as a radiation control specialist for the State of Delaware. He served on the Radiation Authority for the State of Delaware for twenty-five years and was a Radiation Safety Officer for DuPont. The lecture is in partnership
with the Delaware Academy of Chemical Sciences to bring science

Christmas at Hagley
The1803 du Pont ancestral home, Eleutherian Mills, is decorated primarily in Colonial Revival style for the holidays. Dried flowers, greenery, fruits, and other natural materials create a beautiful holiday ambiance accentuated by soft lights and Christmas music. Exhibit included in regular admission.
