Brandywine Treasures Passport
Passports are $35 per adult, or $75 for a family of two adults and up to three children. Vvisitors receive a Brandywine Treasure Trail Map and a passport good for one-time admission at each of these eleven Brandywine Valley Museums and Gardens: the Brandywine River Museum, Delaware Art Museum, Delaware Center for the Contemporary Arts, Delaware Historical Society & Read House, Delaware Museum of Natural History, Hagley Museum and Library, Longwood Gardens, Mt. Cuba Center, Nemours Mansion & Gardens, Rockwood Park & Museum, and Winterthur Museum, Garden & Library.

Wilmington Trust / M&T Bank Presents: Fireworks at Hagley
Marvel at the spectacular pyrotechnics at Hagley's annual fireworks shows. This year's theme, "Better Things for Better Living" celebrates the innovations that have changed the world. Before the show, younger visitors can enjoy bounces and games in Kid Central. Win fantastic items at the raffle and silent auction booth. Bring a picnic or dine in our food court. Hagley's Creek Kids: The Natural World
Investigate the beautiful natural setting of Hagley! The unique natural resources at Hagley made it the ideal site for the DuPont powder yards. The Creek Kids' hands-on activities will explore why du Pont settled here and how we can work to preserve the site's natural beauty. Activities are included with general admission and are free for members.


June 24-28 - Monday through Friday
Hagley Summer Camp - Lost Arts and Skills Camp
Ages: 7-10 years old
Campers discover the tasks and activities that children did every day in the 1800s. Before shopping malls and fast food, children learned to make their own clothes and toys, prepare snacks from fresh ingredients, work with wood, fish, and many other lost arts. Campers will experience life on the farm with a visit to Coverdale Farm. Registration required.

July 3, 10, 17, 24, 31 - Wednesdays - 5 to 8 p.m.
Bike and Hike Evenings at Hagley

Hagley members and visitors may once again stroll and cycle the grounds of Hagley on Wednesday evenings as we open up our property from 5 to 8 p.m. Enjoy our extended three-mile walk as you loop through the property from the Visitor Center to Eleutherian Mills and back and see spectacular views along the most beautiful mile of the Brandywine. Bring a picnic or dine at the Belin House Organic Café. Rain dates will be July 11, 18, 25, and August 1. Admission is $2 per person. Free for members and children five and under.

July 8-12 - Monday through Friday
Hagley Summer Camp - Brandywine Naturalists Camp

Ages: 9-11 years old
Naturalists explore the environment of the Brandywine River. Campers will dig into ground and look up the sky as they understand the world around us. They will test stream water and learn how we can take care of nature. The camp will end with a tubing trip down the Brandywine River. Registration required.

Hagley's Creek Kids: Black Powder

Discover and experiment with the many different uses of black powder, from stone cutting to mining to fireworks! These Creek Kids events will focus on the science and process of making black powder, and the diverse and sometimes unexpected ways it was used. Activities are included with general admission and are free for members.

July 29 - August 2 - Monday through Friday
Hagley Summer Camp - Gears, Engineers, and Science Frontiers Camp
Ages: 10-12 years old
Campers take on engineering challenges, while conducting experiments to uncover the properties of mystery materials. They will see how technology has changed over time from the water wheel to the steam engine. A field trip to the Franklin Institute in Philadelphia will round out the week. Registration required.

August 7, 14, 21, 28 - Wednesdays - 5 to 8 p.m.

Hagley's Creek Kids: Innovation and Power

Join us for the Hagley World’s Fair, covering three centuries of innovation brought to you from the banks of the Brandywine River! Explore nineteenth-century water power, twentieth-century at-home conveniences, and twenty-first-century renewable resources through our engaging hands-on activities. Kids can launch a rocket, ride a hovercraft, and make slime! Activities are included with general admission and are free for members.

August 25 - Sunday - 1 to 4 p.m.
All-American Day

Join us on August 25 for All-American Day! This fun family event features a historically accurate nineteenth-century "Base Ball" game between Diamond State Base Ball Club and Flemington Neshanock Base Ball Club. Come early for batting practice and to try out some other traditional nineteenth-century games, such as hoop-and-stick and tug of war. All-American food will be available for purchase. Be sure to bring your own seating- this game is very informal. This is a "Let's Move!" event.

September 12 – Thursday – 7 to 9 p.m.
Lecture: Regina Lee Blaszczyk, University of Leeds, "The Color Revolution"

September 15 - Sunday - 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Hagley Car Show

Browse through more than 500 antique and restored cars that date from the early 1900s-1980s. This year’s special feature is American manufacturers’ high performance cars. The show features vehicle parades, motoring music, video and go-kart racing, and a festival food court. Activities are on Hagley’s upper property. Wristbands to the show will be offered in advance at the Hagley Store or www.hagley.org from August 15 through September 12 (online) or September 13 (store). Pre-event wristbands are $8 adults and $4 children six through fourteen. Wristbands purchased at the Car Show will be $10 adults and $5 children six through fourteen. Admission is free for Hagley members and children five and under. The event will be held rain or shine. Use Hagley’s main entrance off Route 141 in Wilmington, Delaware.

Research Seminar: Jason Petrulis, Oberlin College, “Wigs: The Story of a Cold War Commodity”
The seminar is open to the public and is based on a paper that is circulated in advance. Those planning to attend are encouraged to read the paper before coming to the seminar. Copies may be obtained by emailing Carol Lockman, clockman@hagley.org. The seminar begins promptly at 6:30, and takes place in the Copeland Room of Hagley’s library building. October 5, 12, 19, 26 - Saturdays - 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Hayrides at Hagley
On Saturdays in October, families can take a hayride along the Brandywine to experience the beautiful fall foliage in the Powder Yard. Visitors can see a gunpowder explosion, the roll mill in action, and working nineteenth-century machines. Included with admission, free for members. Use Hagley's main entrance off Route 141 in Wilmington, Delaware.

October 19 and 20 - Saturday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Hagley Craft Fair
This artisans’ marketplace brings talented artisans from the Mid-Atlantic area to display and sell fine arts and crafts. This premier show will feature works in wood, pottery, jewelry, fibers, metal, and other media. Admission is $5 per person, free for members and children under six years old. Use Hagley's Buck Road East entrance off Route 100 in Wilmington, Delaware.

October 24 - Thursday - 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
Golden Pheasants Friendraiser

Something's brewing at Hagley! Join our networking group, the Golden Pheasants, for an evening program on beer brewing. Light refreshments will be served. Cash wine and beer. Cost is $15, must be 21 years or older to attend. Reservations requested by October 17. Call the membership office weekdays at (302) 658-2400, ext. 235. “Holidays at Hagley” Exhibition

See the du Pont family ancestral home, Eleutherian Mills, dressed for the holidays. “Christmas at Hagley” features a different theme each year. The first bus leaves for the exhibit at 10 a.m. and the last bus at 3:30 p.m. The holiday display is included in the cost of admission and free for members. December 5 – Thursday – 6 to 8 p.m.
