The Hagley Museum and Library provides access to items in our collections for educational and research purposes. All reproductions are done at the discretion of library staff. Conservation concerns and staffing limitations are the most common reasons for declining reproduction requests. Possession of a physical or digital reproduction of Hagley collection material does not constitute permission to publish, exhibit, distribute, or otherwise make available any content protected by copyright law except as may be permitted under fair use or another copyright law exemption, such as the public domain.
All responsibility for obtaining copyright permission to publish or reproduce is assumed by the user. In many instances, Hagley does not hold the copyright to its materials and cannot grant or deny permission to use them. For material for which Hagley holds copyright, Hagley requires written permission for all public use. For material for which copyright is retained by an active depositor, Hagley will make every effort to facilitate permission requests between the user and depositor.
We strongly encourage you to contact us if you have any questions about reproductions and publishing/broadcasting Hagley content.
Library staff is ready to assist you via email at askhagley@hagley.org or (302) 658-2400 ext 227.
