Please show your military identification at the ticket desk in Hagley's Visitor Center.

Location

Hagley Museum is located at 200 Hagley Creek Road, Wilmington, DE 19807, off of Delaware Route 141.

Museum Directions

Hagley is located in Greenville, Delaware 19807, about four miles from downtown Wilmington, 30 minutes south of Philadelphia, 90 minutes north of Baltimore, and two hours south of New York City.

Driving Directions to Museum

From the North: Take I-95 South to exit 8B (Rt. 202 Concord Pike/Wilmington); follow approximately one mile to DE RT 141; turn LEFT onto 141 South; at the second light, you must turn RIGHT to stay on 141 South, follow for approximately 2 miles; at the bottom of a long hill, you must turn RIGHT again to stay on 141 South; after crossing bridge watch for Hagley entrance sign on right; make a sharp RIGHT at Hagley sign onto Old Barley Mill Road; the museum entrance is at the bottom of the hill on the LEFT.

From the South: Take I-95 North to Delaware exit 5B (Newport) onto DE RT 141; follow north for 7 miles;  cross through large intersection of RT 141 and RT 100; take next LEFT onto Old Barley Mill Road; the museum entrance is at the bottom of the hill on the LEFT. If you miss the turn onto Old Barley Mill Road and cross a large bridge and find yourself at the entrance to the DuPont Experimental Station, turn RIGHT at the light, cross an iron truss bridge, turn RIGHT again and follow the river to Hagley’s entrance.

NOTE: EXIT 5B is currently closed. Please take exit 5A (Airport Road). At the stop sign, turn left onto Route 141 north and continue with the directions above.

From the East (Wilmington): Take RT 52/12th Street NORTH; stay RIGHT when crossing over I-95; 12th Street turns into Pennsylvania Avenue; continue for two miles to Rising Sun Lane, turn RIGHT; at bottom of hill (at River) turn LEFT on to Main Street; follow the river to Hagley’s entrance (about ½ mile)

From the West (Longwood Gardens):  Exit Longwood Gardens onto Rt 1 North; follow about ½ mile to Rt 52 S/Kennett Pike, turn RIGHT onto Rt 52; follow 9 miles to Breck’s Lane, turn LEFT onto Brecks Lane; follow to bottom of the hill (the river), turn LEFT onto Main Street; follow river about ½ mile to Hagley’s entrance.

From the New Jersey/ Delaware Memorial Bridge: Stay to the left and take the exit RT 141 North to Lancaster and Newport, follow north for 7 miles;  cross through large intersection of RT 141 and RT 100; take next LEFT onto Old Barley Mill Road; the museum entrance is at the bottom of the hill on the LEFT.

From the Library/Administrative Entrance to Museum Entrance: Exit straight out gates and follow to first traffic light (Rt 100), turn LEFT; follow to next traffic light (Rt 141) turn LEFT;  take NEXT LEFT onto Old Barley Mill Road; follow to bottom of the hill; Hagley’s entrance will be on the LEFT.  

Library and Soda House Directions

The Hagley Library and Soda House are located off Route 100 and Buck Road in Greenville, Delaware approximately 4 miles from downtown Wilmington.

Please Note: Our Manuscripts and Archives Department, is located in the Soda House, please follow signs accordingly when you arrive on our property. If you are unsure where you are supposed to go please call us at (302) 658-2400.

Directions from Interstate 95

From 95 North: Take exit 8B and proceed on 202 north for approximately one mile to Route 141 south. Follow Route 141 south to the intersection with Route 100. Turn right onto Route 100 north. At the first stoplight make a right onto Buck Road East and follow the signs to library or Soda House.

From 95 South: Take exit 5B and proceed on 141 north. Follow 141 for approximately 7 miles. Turn left onto route 100 North. At the first stoplight make a right onto Buck Road East and follow the signs to the library or Soda House.

Directions from Route 202

Take Route 202 to Route 141 south. Follow Route 141 south to the intersection with Route 100. Turn right onto Route 100 north. At the first stoplight make a right onto Buck Road East and follow the signs to library or Soda House.

Directions from Route 52 (West Chester/Kennett Square)

Take Route 52 south and continue into Delaware. Shortly after the intersection with Route 82, you will pass a shopping center on your left. Stay in the left lane and watch for the intersection with Buck Road. Make a left at the light onto Buck Road. Go straight at the next traffic light (staying on Buck Road). After the stop sign, go straight through the gates and follow signs to the library or Soda House.

Other Hours / Policies

OTHER HOURS

The Belin House Organic Café is open daily from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The Hagley Museum Store is open daily at 10 a.m. and closes a half hour after the museum closes.

Hagley Library and Administration is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

The Library is also open the second Saturday of each month from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

The Library and Administration are closed most major holidays.

    ANNUAL JANUARY RESIDENCE CLOSURE

    The Eleutherian Mills Residence closes for two weeks at the beginning of the year. During this time, tours focus on the Powder Yards and the lower property. Tours include Machine Shop and gunpowder demonstrations and tours of the Gibbons House and Sunday School on Workers' Hill.

    During this time, visitors pay a reduced admission of $7 for adults, seniors, and students, and $3 for children 6 to 14. Admission is free for Hagley members and children 5 and younger.

     

    FOR GUESTS WITH MOBILITY CHALLENGES

    Hagley is largely an outdoor experience with uneven terrain.  Choosing weather appropriate clothing and comfortable shoes will contribute to a great experience.  Most of Hagley’s buildings are accessible for persons with disabilities but not all historic structures can accommodate wheelchairs.  A bus that accommodates wheelchairs makes regular runs throughout the entire property and wheelchairs are available in the Visitor Center.

    PHOTOGRAPHY POLICY

    Periodically, Hagley takes photographs and video of visitors and activities for use in promotional and editorial material. With admission into the museum or library, you give permission to Hagley for the recording of photographs and/or video of yourself and your dependents. You grant Hagley all rights to use these still or moving images for educational, promotional, advertising, and other purposes which advance the overall mission of Hagley Museum and Library. All rights to the photographs and video belong to Hagley Museum and Library. If you do not consent to this policy, please notify the photographer prior to any filming or photography.

    DRONE POLICY

    Hagley prohibits the use of drones on the property.
