Live with the Hagley Historian: DuPont and the Manhattan Project

Thursday, July 16, 2020

In this edition of “Live with the Hagley Historian” recorded in June, Lucas Clawson discusses the DuPont Company’s role in the Manhattan Project and the development of the first operational nuclear reactors. Using rare documents, footage, and photographs from Hagley’s collection, Lucas describes the top-secret project to develop a weapon the Allies hoped would end the Second World War and then served as a major catalyst in the Cold War between the Soviet Union and the United States.
