We are seeking a dependable and energetic Part-Time Custodian to help maintain our facilities and support the many visitors, staff, and events that make Hagley a special destination.

Position Summary
The Part-Time Custodian performs general custodial and light maintenance duties to ensure Hagley's public and work areas remain clean, safe, and well-maintained. This role also supports special events through room setup and breakdown, building security, and other assigned facility-related tasks.
Essential Responsibilities
Custodial Services
Sweep, vacuum, mop, and maintain floors and baseboards.
Clean, sanitize, and restock restrooms.
Clean interior glass, doors, and high-touch surfaces.
Remove trash, recyclables, leaves, and other debris from buildings and surrounding areas.
Dust furniture, shelving, fixtures, and other surfaces.
Remove cobwebs from interior and exterior building areas.
Clean break rooms, kitchens, and eating areas.
Monitor custodial supplies and notify the supervisor when replenishment is needed.
Facility and Maintenance Support
Assist with event setup and breakdown, including moving tables, chairs, furniture, and supplies.
Complete work orders as assigned by the Custodial Supervisor.
Perform minor building maintenance tasks, including replacing light bulbs.
Clean interior and exterior windows as needed.
Shampoo carpets and polish fixtures when required.
Assist with snow and ice removal around building entrances, sidewalks, and walkways.
Building Operations and Safety
Open, secure, and inspect assigned buildings.
Operate security systems and alarm panels as required.
Maintain awareness of safety equipment locations, including fire extinguishers, AEDs, alarms, emergency exits, and first-aid kits.
Follow all safety procedures for chemical handling, including the use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
Understand and follow Safety Data Sheet (SDS) requirements.
Qualifications
Previous custodial, janitorial, housekeeping, or facilities experience preferred, but we are willing to train the right candidate.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and safety.
Basic computer skills, including email and the ability to learn timekeeping and work order systems.
Valid driver's license required.
Availability to work a flexible schedule within operating hours of 7:00 AM to 10:00 PM, including occasional evenings and weekends.
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, push, pull, and perform repetitive motions throughout the shift.
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
Ability to perform moderate physical labor for extended periods in both indoor and outdoor environments.
