Enjoy an in-depth, special guided tour at Hagley.

Tours begin promptly at 11 a.m. at Hagley's Visitor Center.

$25 for adults, $15 for children 6-14, free for children 5 and under (includes museum admission). $5 for Hagley Members.

Tours may involve walking on uneven ground. Comfortable shoes are a must.

 

March 2 - Women Inventors in the Hagley Patent Model Collection
Join Hagley Curator Chris Cascio for a fascinating deep dive into the lives of women inventors featured in the Nation of Inventors exhibit. This special tour will also showcase patent models that are rarely displayed, offering a unique opportunity to see objects that seldom come into public view.

Library Conservator Laura Wahl brings the stories of women workers at Lukens to life through a behind-the-scenes look at early 20th-century environmental portraits. Learn how these remarkable images are preserved and discover how company newsletters reveal the everyday lives, labor, and lasting contributions of women who shaped industrial history.

Dig into two very different gardens – one fed the du Pont family and the other DuPont Company workers in the nineteenth century. Enjoy a walk through the lower Hagley Powder Yard while we tell the remarkable stories of 19th century black powder manufacturing and of the resilient people who worked here. Explore the challenges of making a dangerous product within the context of 19th century industry standards. The tour ends with a signal cannon demonstration to illustrate the power of explosions. Tour involves walking on uneven ground and is approximately 90 minutes. Because this tour explores the hazards of black powder manufacturing, it includes discussion of historic accidents and loss of life.
