Bringing the Ernest Dichter Papers to Hagley

Friday, May 20, 2016

On the website for Adam Mathew, a digital publisher that works with Hagley, our good friend Regina Blaszcyk described her role in bringing the papers of Ernest Dichter to our library. Dichter was a psychologist who studied consumer habits and behaviors. During his career, he consulted with businesses and offered guidance on how best to market their products and services to customers. Dichter’s collection at Hagley includes his business records and reports he delivered to his clients. A selection of the collection was digitized by Adam Matthew and is available on-site at the Hagley Library and through a subscription. Read more about it at the homepage for American Consumer Culture: Market Research & American Business, 1935-1965.
