Safety Updates

Hagley wants you to enjoy your visit safely.

For your safety and ours, Hagley continues to follow guidelines from the State of Delaware and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (the CDC).

Effective Saturday, July 31, 2021:

  • All visitors and staff must wear masks in public indoor locations.
  • Masks are required to ride the Hagley buses, which will continue operating at reduced capacity with spaced seating.
  • Masks are not required in outdoor areas.
  • Social distancing of three feet will be maintained for indoor locations, including the museum store, the Millwright Shop, and other areas.

Hagley will not require proof of vaccination, but we ask for visitors’ and employees’ responsible and respectful cooperation with these policies.

The well-being of our guests and staff is our top priority. To that end, we are doing the following:

  • Encouraging the use of online ticket purchases to decrease contact at admissions
  • Ensuring employees are informed of and following state and CDC guidelines for working during COVID-19
  • Requiring PPE for our unvaccinated staff and providing PPE for vaccinated staff who choose to continue wearing masks
  • Continuing to align our cleaning procedures with the latest guidance from the CDC
  • Providing hand sanitizer stations at convenient locations for guest and staff use
  • Providing clear and frequent reminders to follow CDC guidelines for social distancing and personal hygiene via signage throughout the property
  • Monitoring guest areas to encourage social distancing and reduce group gatherings in accordance with government mandates
