Explosions Tour at Hagley Museum
Despite DuPont's motto of "safety first" and the procedures they had in place to prevent them, gunpowder explosions at Hagley were inevitable. Learn about how they affected the lives of the workers and their families. Tour involves walking on uneven ground. Included in admission and free for members. At Bike & Hike & Brews, visitors can stroll, jog, or bike through areas of Hagley property normally closed to foot traffic.

Cannon firings in the powder yards demonstrate how black powder was made and used.
In this walking tour of the powder yard, guests experience an in-depth, behind-the-scenes look at the black powder process and can try their hand at graining some powder. Reservations requested, call (302) 658-2400, ext. 261.
