What's on #TechTuesday today? It's the Crosley Deluxe television console!

This ca. 1950s advertisement for the Executive model comes from a collection of six sheets of similar advertisements, each with full color illustration on one side and textual description on the other, promoting six models of television sets from the Crosley Corporation, which became a subsidiary of Avco Corporation in 1945.

Crosley was founded by Powel Crosley, Jr. (1886-1961), an American inventor and entrepreneur who left a career in automobile manufacturing in 1921 to begin manufacturing radios. By 1925, "The Henry Ford of Radio" had made Crosley Radio Corporation the largest radio manufacturer in the world. By the 1930s, the company had branched out to begin manufacturing other products as well, including household appliances, aircraft, and automobiles.
