Manuscripts and Archives: Philadelphia Map Society Visit
The Philadelphia Map Society visited the Hagley Library on April 9 and viewed a display of maps from the Manuscripts and Archives Department. The maps ranged from early nineteenth-century property documents to twentieth century transportation routes, and urban planning studies.

Museum Collection: Mystery Object - Gunpowder Thermometers
Sometimes, objects in our collection are a little mysterious. They can be mysterious because we can’t say who made them, or what material they are made of, or because we may not know who used them or how they were used. Our staff do the best they can to research the objects in our collection, but many of them remain to be researched. This brings us to this week’s topic: gunpowder thermometers.

Dr. Jeanne Nutter Wins Lifetime Achievement Award for Oral History Work
Lifelong Wilmington resident Dr. Jeanne Nutter has won a lifetime achievement award for her work in oral history. The Forest Pogue Award, given by Oral History in the Mid-Atlantic Region, will be presented at OHMAR's annual meeting, April 14 at the Hagley Museum and Library Soda House, accessible through the Buck Road entrance.

Mission to be Accomplished: The Processing of Patent Models
My experiences with Hagley Museum and Library have been diverse. I first started as an intern right after I graduated from the Univerity of Delaware in 2013. During my internship I was responsible for the processing of the Amram-Brick Collection of Women Inventors.
