Hispano-Suiza catalog, 1934

While he identified it as one of his treasures, Vinson had little to say in his “Auto-biography” about his 1934 Hispano-Suiza catalog, a Spanish automaker known in the 1920s and 1930s for its luxury cars.

However, Rick Schnitzler, the dealer who acquired and then sold it to Vinson, still remembers it as one of the most significant catalogs that passed through his hands in 40 years of selling car literature.

In a 2014 interview with Schnitzler conducted by Hagley, his reaction to this particular piece perfectly demonstrates the reverence and knowledge that both dealers and collectors have for the objects of their affection.
